Dr Romera obtained a position as a Principal Scientist at the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (NIBSC) in 2013 where she gained significant experience in coordinating the writing of scientific papers based on the Institute activity such as the development of reference material using spectrometric and electrophoretic methods (LC and LC/MS). Other responsibilities included the review of British Pharmacopeia monographs and contribution to the preparation of new chapters.

Prior to joining Metabolomic Diagnostics, Dr Romera worked at Grifols, a producer of blood plasma-based products and devices for clinical testing. As a Scientific Publication Manager within the Global Publications Department, she was responsible for the writing of high-quality scientific papers for peer-reviewed medical journals related to transfusion medicine and clinical diagnostics, ensuring compliance with good publication practices.

In her new role, Dr Romera will be responsible for the preparation of high-quality scientific papers in conjunction with authors (members of the company’s research team, physicians and study investigators) for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals. Additionally, she will be in charge of the development and execution of strategic publication plans and timelines, detailing target journals and publication dates. She will ensure scientific quality and integrity as well as compliance with good publication practices (GPP3) and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines.
